김주형 2년 연속, PGA 투어 슈라이너스 칠드런스 오픈 우승

(골프챔피언/섬머린,네바다)탐 김이 15일 라스베이거스 TPC 서머린(파71)에서 열린 PGA Tour 슈라이너스 칠드런스 오픈(총상금 840만달러)에서 지난해에 이어 대회 2연패를 차지했다.

PGA 투어 통산 3승. 지난해 8월 윈덤 챔피언십에서 PGA 첫 승을 올렸고, 작년 10월에 이어 이 대회에서 2승으로 투어 통산 3승을 올렸다.

PGA 대회 2연패는 지난해 이경훈(32)이 AT&T 바이런 넬슨에서 기록한 데 이어 역대 두 번째다.

우승 상금 151만2000달러를 받아 PGA 통산 상금 1069만7756달러로 1000만달러 를 넘어섰다.

김주형은 전날 3라운드에서 9타를 줄이며 공동 선두에 올랐고 마지막조로 출전한 최종 4라운드에서는 버디 7개, 보기 2개를 묶어 5언더파 66타를 적어내 합계 20언더파 264타로 2위 캐나다 애덤 해드윈(36·19언더파 265타)을 1타 차로 제치고 우승했다.

21세 3개월 나이인 김주형은 이번에 2연패를 달성하면서 만 21세에 3승을 달성한 뒤 26년 만에 나온 최연소 3승 기록도 남겼다.

마지막 날 3위로 티삿을 한 이경훈은 퍼팅 난조로 보기2개와 버디 5개를 추가하면서 17언더파 합계267타로 공동7위에 올라 아쉬운 마무리를 해야 했고 마이클 김은 15언더파로 공동18위에 올랐다.

Tom Kim Wins PGA Tour Shriners Children’s Open for the Second Consecutive Year

Tom Kim secured his second consecutive victory at the PGA Tour Shriners Children’s Open (total prize money of 8.4 million dollars) held at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas on the 15th. With this win, he now has three career wins on the PGA Tour.

He claimed his first PGA victory in August of last year at the Wyndham Championship and, following that, he added another win at this tournament in October of last year.

His back-to-back PGA victories are the second in history, following Kyung-hoon Lee’s (32) achievement at the AT&T Byron Nelson last year.

He earned a prize money of 1.512 million dollars from this win, bringing his total career earnings on the PGA Tour to over 10.69 million dollars.

Tom Kim, who shared the lead after reducing his score by nine strokes in the third round, clinched the victory in the final round. He scored 5-under-par with seven birdies and two bogeys, finishing with a total score of 20-under-par, 264, edging out Canada’s Adam Hadwin (36, 19-under-par, 265) by one stroke. At the age of 21 years and 3 months,Tom Kim achieved his second consecutive win, becoming only the third golfer in history to win three times at the age of 21. This feat came 26 years after the previous youngest golfer to win three times.

Kyung-hoon Lee, who was tied for third place going into the final day, struggled with his putting and added two bogeys and five birdies to finish at 17-under-par with a total score of 267, settling for a shared 7th place. Michael Kim finished at 15-under-par, tied for 18th place.”
